Following this, Griffith takes on a new persona, outwardly cold and logical, and completely untouchable to those who would harm his interests. Whether that is all he is now is left mysterious, as apart from a phantom heartbeat, Griffith's character is just as emotionally distant to the viewer as he is to those in universe.
