In Sheryl ~Kiss in the Galaxy~ it is revealed that Sheryl is the daughter of Abel Coureaux and Sally Nome. Sheryl's trademark earings were a gift from her mother who received them from her own mother, Mao Nome. Sheryl's parents were killed by Galaxy because they opposed a project involving mandatory implants for all citizens. After their deaths, Sheryl is rescued from the streets by Grace O'Connor.
